Emoji Domains: Emojis on HNS are taking off: part one 🚀, two 🚀🚀 and three 🚀🚀🚀. The top auction this week was http://🎮/ for 25,000 HNS. Emojis are part of the zeitgeist, crypto protocols co-opt emojis as their own symbols online, and now you can use them as permissionless, censorship-resistant domain names 🤯.
Covenant Growth: A video visualization from HNS community member and developer Fernando Falci of all the on-chain covenant usage on Handshake throughout its first year.
Twitter Order Books: As DeFi pushes deeper into social media, it’s now possible to monetize and sell tweets via Valuables by Cent. Take that tool into unintended territory and bids on that tweet can become a sort of pseudo order book, which happened this week when 5000 HNS were sold for ETH. The symbiosis of crypto markets and social media is evolving in new and interesting ways.
Owning Your DNS Stack: Community member blog post on Handshake usage and instructions for syncing the HNS network with a docker container as well as resolving names on your own computer.
Name Hodling: Andrew Rosener, one of the top domainers in the world, is collecting Handshake names. “I’m a buyer not a seller. I’ve seen this movie before.”
