Secondary Markets: For three consecutive days, secondary sales records have been broken on the Namebase marketplace. The largest name resale is now held by purse/ for 30,000 HNS after ether/ and links/ each went for 25,000 HNS earlier this week. Purse happens to be the development team behind the bcoin full node implementation of Bitcoin, which the Handshake HSD full node is a fork of.
GoDaddy: Staff were sent a notice of surprise holiday bonuses, but it turns out this was a phishing test. Aside from the tone deafness of walking back bonuses during a pandemic, this is your regularly scheduled reminder that our domain name system is only as secure as the registrars that maintain it. Remember — not your keys, not your DNS records.

Nomad: Namebase is now collecting feedback on Nomad, the social network for Handshake names that launched last week. The app is built on Footnote, an ephemeral storage layer and the first layer two protocol for HNS, developed by Kyokan. Nomad highlights Handshake’s extensibility beyond domain names to further naming use cases such as usernames and social handles.
Goldshell Miner: Review of the new HS3-SE Goldshell miner. Handshake has made home setup and mining easy. “The Goldshell HS3-SE is incredibly interesting because it consumes less than 1,000 watts and is profitable even at residential electric rates.”
