→ Bitmain, one of the largest designers of ASICs for crypto mining, announces the Antminer HS3 — a new Handshake ASIC miner. With highly efficient miners set to come online, we will be watching HNS hashrate and how it responds. Launch event on Twitter spaces is happening Dec. 20 @ 8pm UTC (7am EST).
→ HNS.ID With a focus on self custodial and portable identity, Namebase is building a new registry protocol on Optimism for decentralized second level domains anchored in the Handshake root.
→ Excerpt, our new Handshake blogging tool, now offers tipping and RSS support. For tipping, writers can assign their blog’s domain to a wallet address to enable $HNS based payments. For RSS support, readers can subscribe to Excerpt blogs in any RSS feed reader for highly P2P content feeds. Any local RSS feed reader that inherit’s your devices DNS configurations should work with Handshake resolvers — Otter and Feeder seem to play nicely. Just use the “/rss” path (e.g. dev.excerpt/rss).
→ Registrar Authorization is the focus of a newly drafted HIP by Paul Webb of Neuenet. The proposal discusses registrar authorization records as a method to indicate with registrars are authorized to issue subdomains for your TLDs
→ Namebase Marketplace minimum offers allow users to prevent spam offers by setting a minimum offer amount in HNS or percentage of your domain's price.
